We are testing the v5.5.0 in our development lab (purely to test it out) but we are running into an odd problem: We cannot get PIN authentication for Common Area Phones to work. We have tried utlizing the reg.1.auth.loginCredentialType=extensionAndPIN as well as the reg.1.auth.usePinCredentials=1 in our shared configuration file and neither of those enable the PIN authentication feature.

 

Has that feature been left out intentionally since 5.5.0 was developed mainly for Skype for Business cloud-hosted PBX that does not support common area phones? Is there a way to enable PIN authentication in our development lab to with our common area phones?

 

Again, I know the official stance of this is not support which is why we have it in our development lab to just learn all the gotchas and features...

Resolution:UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.

 

You are using an unsupported software.
