Hello,

we want to use a Polycom CX3000 with Skype for Buisness Online.

When i type in my login information, the device doesn´t continue with its login process, while it says "connecting to Lync Server".

The latest firmware is installed and the required firewall ports are open.

I don´t know if this information helps you, but our complete IT infrastructure is based on Azure.

Do you need further information??

Greetings from Germany.

Hello @Gelenkwurm35,

Polycom and other manufacturers produce these optimized for Microsoft® Lync® or Skype® for Business devices after a reference design and the embedded OS running on the phones is provided, supported and maintained by our partner Microsoft®.

You therefore may want to reach out to the Microsoft® community and / or Microsoft® support directly instead as this is the most direct and efficient path.

Polycom is unable to add any new features into the functionality of these CX Devices

Please try here

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

The SfB account used needs to be licensed for Enterprise Voice. Microsoft Azure do not have this capability at present i guess.  Polycom and MS should be documenting this. I have found this link might useful: http://blog.schertz.name/2016/02/polycom-phones-with-skype-for-business-online/

Hi,
I gathered some info for you.

It seems that your Polycom CX3000 device is having trouble connecting to Skype for Business Online, despite having the latest firmware and open firewall ports. Based on the information provided, it's unclear what could be causing the issue.

Here are a few potential solutions to try:

  1. Ensure that the login information you're entering is correct and that the device is configured to connect to Skype for Business Online rather than an on-premises Lync server.

  2. Verify that the Polycom CX3000 is certified for use with Skype for Business Online. Check the Microsoft Tech Community page for a list of certified devices.

  3. Confirm that your Office 365 subscription includes the necessary licenses for Skype for Business Online.

  4. Double-check that the required firewall ports are open and that your network configuration is compatible with Skype for Business Online. You may want to consult with your IT department or network administrator for assistance.

If none of these solutions resolve the issue, you may need to contact Polycom or Microsoft support for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on your particular setup and configuration.

Hello @jamesmillere ,

thanks for resurrecting a five year old post.

  • Skype for Business online no longer exists. This is now the Microsoft 3PIP Teams Gateway
  • CX500, CX600, and CX3000 went end of life in 2017
  • Our Partner Microsoft no longer provides any software for these phones and they do not support TLS 1.2

I am closing this post.

Best Regards
