I was handed the phone system at my company without knowing anything about Polycom or BToE or RealConnect, so please forgive.

Whenever a user has to reset their windows sign in password they then have to go into Skype for Business and enter their new password to have their phone connect through the BToE.  We no longer use SfB we have migrated to Microsoft Teams.  All our phones and BToE connector are on older versions.

Phone firmware: 5.9.2.3446

BToE connector:  3.9.1.0

My question is, do users have to do this because of our old software/firmware versions or is it just the nature of the system?  I'm not having much luck finding answers on google.

Thanks any help or point in the right direction are greatly appreciated.

Hello @MilesR ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

This is working as designed. There is no mechanism for Teams to pass the credentials to any 3PIP phones aka BToE.

You have 2 options:

  • Uninstall BToE and enter the credentials either on the Phone UI or use the Web UI
  • Keep using BToE
