I have been able to page from phone to phone but haven't quite figured out how to page from the polycom phone to a Valcom Horn. The horn is wired into a valcom V-2001A box which has a telephone cable plugged into it and that cable leads up the the aux in the polycom phone. What must be done in order to get the polycom to send a signal to the horn? Are there any additional parameters that are necessary to complete this setup. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Anthony

Hello Anthony,

You could use the se.destination and set it to se.destination="headset" and all Alerts should be played via the headset port.

Again I am unsure if this works via this Valcom horn.

Hello Anthony,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The AUX Port on a Polycom VVX phone is to be utilized with an Expansion Module and is not for any speakers or similar.

I advise you contact the provider of this external solution and inquire how to wire this up.

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know how any external speakers may be setup for paging on these phones? Will it automatically send a signal to the horn with the paging softkey? What port on the phone would be used for paging to speaker systems? We have reached out to Valcom the company that sells the speakers and they have said we have everything wired correctly. the Valcom horn may not be compatible with the phones if the aux is not used for sound.

Thanks

Anthony
