We have noticed on a few occasions that our Polycom VVX 501 are sending a missed call notification to the users mailbox.  This only seems to happen when Polycom phone is the only endpoint that the user is logged into at the time of the missed calls.  Once the user is connected to the phone using BToE they will only receive the notification from Exchange.  Below are the examples of missed call notifications (with the calling number changed) and the polycom notification clearly says Polycom at the bottom of the email message.  Has anyone found a way to diable these notifications on the Polycom VVX phones thoguh a config block?

Polycom Missed Call Email:

Missed call from WIRELESS CALLER

WIRELESS CALLER

Other:

+15555555555

Polycom

Exchange Missed Call Email:

You missed a call from 5555555555

Caller-Id:

5555555555

We are running Firmware 5.4.5.6770 on our phones.

Hello Bradley,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Have you ever resolved your other issue => here <=. If yes could you reply or leave a mark aka mark these as "Accept as a solution" ?

If they are in this state nobody finding them via a community search will know if an answer or advice was useful and has helped you.

Could you therefore kindly go over them and mark or answer as appropriate ?

If they are marked as "Accept as a solution" other users can find these easier and it helps them to utilize the community more efficiently.

For your new question you are not using the latest 5.4.6 or soon the latest 5.5.2

To my knowledge this feature is a setting in LYNC / Skype for Business as for example shown => here <=

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hi Steffen,

Thanks you for the suggestion.  These notifications aren't the ones coming from Exchange UM for missed calls but seem to be placed directly into the mailbox of the user by the Polycom phone by using EWS.  When Exchange UM missed call notifications are enabled there will be two email notifications sent to the mailbox (one from Exchange and one that has no email header informaiton and says "Polycom" at the bottom of the message).

This only seems to happen under specific circumstances such as the Polycom phone is the only endpoint logged into Skype as the user.

Are there any other setting or config blocks within Polycom that would be able to disable this?

Thanks,

Bradley

Hello Bradley,

not that I am aware off. The next step just like your other post is a Polycom Support Ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I know this is an old thread, but having spent many hours on the same issue and keep coming back to the description here and finally finding a resolution, I figured I'd share the wealth.

These emails only get generated on a missed call but no voicemail.

The email is generated by "missed call notifications Unified Messaging (UM) mailbox policy".  We just transitioned our VVX 410 phones (Skype for Business clients) to Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Phone System (cloud based). You can either address with "EAC"/Exchange Action Center or powershell.  I was able to adjust setting following the "Use the EAC to disable missed call notifications for a UM mailbox policy" section of the article.
