Possible to Convert "VVX 250 Skype for Business" to OBi Edition ?

As we dont get any VVX 250 OBi Editions here in Switzerland (sold out...) my question is if its possible to buy some VVX 250 Skype for Business Phones and convert them to OBi Edition ?

There's a manual available here. Removed by a moderator as not officially supported by Poly. Please purchase the correct handset

Does the "VVX 250 Skype for Business"  has the "Polycom UC Software" installed ?

Did somebody tried this with success ?

Re: Possible to Convert "VVX 250 Skype for Business" to OBi Edition ?

Hello @pitw ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

From our "normal" FAQ:

Sep 03, 2019 Question: Can I convert a Poly VVX into ObiEdition or UC Software?

ResolutionThe process is not officially supported by Poly.

  • If you want a VVX in Obi Edition please purchase the ObiEdition
  • If you want a VVX in UC Software please purchase a VVX in UC Edition

A Poly VVX250 in Skype base Profile is running the UC Software but as explained above it is not officially supported.

Re: Possible to Convert "VVX 250 Skype for Business" to OBi Edition ?

Thanks. From what I'm "reading between the lines"; it should work but its fully in our responsibility - no guarantee from Poly

As its not our first phone firmware switch we'll take the risk and try it. Else we have a nice paperweight

PS: We got the link from Google FAQs - https://support.google.com/a/answer/9250113?hl=en (thats fo r what we need the OBi Edition)
