Is there a way to change the home screen menu page style from 3x1 to 3x2 using the phone's local UI?

We found a TRIO using 3x1 not the default 3x2 and I can't seem to find a way to change it from the phone's UI.  Changing the setting via the web UI does not work because it was somehow changed locally at the phone.

For reference:

TRIO Software     5.5.2.11338

Setting:                homeScreen.menuPageStyle

Thanks

Sean

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for the quick response.

I did try that menu, but I do not have the "Home Menu Grid" option.

Please see attached screen shot.

Thanks

Sean

Hello Sean,

I was using a current software like 5.5.3 so maybe you cannot via the UI. You can via the Web IF and there may be a option in some menu I am not aware off.

So the interesting part is, I can't via the web UI because the setting has been changed locally on the phone.

I'm starting to think that someone changed it on an earlier code rev, so the setting was written to the override file.  Now that the phone has been updated, the setting is no longer available from the local UI and we can't change it via the web due to local having a higher priority than web.

This is also in production so removing or editing the override file is not an option.

Thanks

Hello Sean,

not knowing how you configure your phone I have seen people use <mac>-phone.cfg / <mac>-web.cfg files to do this which is wrong and must never be used.

You can reset the local phone changes via the UI and upgrading to a currently supported version aka 5.5.3 will allow you to make the change via the UI as explained in my original post.

Thanks, Steffen.

We do not use custom configs per phone.  The override files are causing us pain in this instance trying to fix the issue.

I will work with our teams internally to delete the override file and fix this issue.

Thanks

I have the same issue with one of our Trio 8800.  The menu all of the sudden went 3x1.  I'm on the latest 5.9.0 release firmware.

In the web gui, you can change it in the preferences, Home screen..BUT...when you save it, it says this message:

The recent changes to homeScreen.menuPageStyle will not take effect, because of higher priority value.

The recent changes to homeScreen.menuPageStyle will not take effect, because of higher priority value.
Local: 0
Web: 1

Clear local source value before saving.

If you check the box, it will override and switch back. Just FYI if somebody else had this.  Not sure how/why it wennt to 3x1 instead of the 3x2.

Also, it removed the line in the phone.cfg file that had a default setting in there with the home screen xml to 0.  That is gone now in the file asfter it reset.

Thanks

For me, I fixed the issue tactically on the device with the 3X1 issue by editing the override file for the device.

In the override file, I set the menu to 3X2.
