Hello ,

Just to elaborate a bit more details in case there are follow up questions:

  • DNS - DNS SRV service records to allow the Trio to discover Lync / SfB server automatically

  • Auto Discovery – Currently the Trio UCS release (5.4.3 AB, launched on August 2016), only supports DNS SRV records for automatic client sign-in.

  • Root CA Certificate - Trio fetches the root certificate using LDAP DNS query. Phones you registered with Lync Server / SfB are enabled by default and no additional configuration is required.

For information on creating and verifying DNS SRV records, see Required DNS Records for Automatic Client Sign-In in Microsoft TechNet.

Lync Server 2013 has introduced an Autodiscover Service where the newer versions of Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 clients prefer Autodiscover over DNS SRV records discover. When SfB / Lync 2013 client can successfully sign in, it can be the Lync Autodiscover Service has been properly configured. However, if you do not configure the legacy DNS SRV discovery properly, this would result the Trio cannot sign-in as Trio only support DNS SRV discovery. See Understanding Autodiscover in Lync Server 2013 in Microsoft TechNet for details.

Best Regards
