VVX 501 5.8 update reverts to previous version

I have been trying to update my VVX 501 phone to the latest firmware (and BtoE 3.8) but the phone keeps reverting to the previous version after the update.  The phone is currently running, with BToE 3.7.  When I try to upgrade to 5.8.12848C in the web interface, the phone goes through the upgrade process, and eventually restarts and appears to be running the new version.  However, after a few moments, the phone reverts to the older 5.6 version firmware.

ANy ideas what is happening and how I can make the upgrade stick?

Feb 02, 2016 Question:How can I prevent a Polycom VVX Business Media Phone to be downgraded / upgraded automatically via Skype for Business and/or Office365?

Resolution:For LYNC please download, unpack and import the attached LyncProvisionDeviceParams. For Skype for Business Online / O365 please set the EnableDeviceUpdate to false as explained => here <=
