Hello,

The speed dials on the VVX600 show only telephone numbers for Outlook contacts and AD contacts. Lync client shows the name correctly. Contacts using Lync show correct. Is there a way to make is show name instead of phone number?

Thanks

Hello BBRyan,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition it would be of interest if these Outlook / AD Contacts have an Email Address assigned to them and / or a first / last name.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello,

The UC Software version is 5.4.3.1014.

The Outlook client does not have an email address tied to it but does have first, last and telephone number.

The AD contact does have First, Last, email address and telephone number.

Thanks!

Hello BBRYan,

we usually receive part of these details via the initial SUBSCRIBE and then few moments later via ABS.

Can you check the details of the Diagnostics > Lync Status > Miscellaneous Info > ABS Server ?

The next step would be to contact your Polycom reseller and if the reseller is some internet discounter and is unable or unwilling to do this please provide me with a MAC address of one of the phones and I look this up.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I am also experiencing this problem, including on phones running the latest version, 5.4.4.2473.

Here is what I have found:

When my Skype for Busienss password is different than my Exchange password, it does not work, even if I add my Exchange password when the phone prompts me. However, if I change my Exchange password to mirror my Skype for Business password, then the contact will correctly display the contact name on my favorites screen on the deskphone. It does not put in the correct alphabetical order though, it puts it first on the list (so user Test Test is first on my list, despite being last alphabetically).

After I performed this test, I changed my Exchange password back to what it was previously, and signed back into my accounts exactly how I was when it was "working", and it went back to displaying the number and not the contact.

This is problematic in my enviorment, because our Skype for Business (third party vendor) and Exchange services (Office 365) are not federated. Only a couple of users are using the same password, most have an easy to input password for their phone and a more complext password for Exchange. We desperately would like this fixed and were really hoping the 5.4.4 update was going to take care of it.

Hello waltersjoshua,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The logs may need to be looked at by Polycom support so please raise this via your Polycom reseller.

If the reseller is some Internet discounter and is unable or unwilling to do this please provide me with a MAC address of one of the phones and I look this up.

Have you found a solution to this?  We don't have the exact problem but something similar.

Display names are not displayed for some users that sign in with PIN--instead the alias part of the email address is shown.  Also for contacts with an email address (not lync contacts, but Outlook contacts set as favorites in Lync) pressing the button next to them results in the email address being dialed instead of the phone number.  I'm wondering if all these things are related somehow.
