I just purchased this phone used and it appears that whoever had it before me has wiped the phone as it cannot load the application. I have attempted to add the firmware back to the phone but the phone will not get an IP address so it cannot contact the provisioning server. I have tried to statically set the IP address but this has no effect either. Even with the phone having a static IP address, I cannot ping the phone. There are no VLANs on the switch and LLDP and CDP have been disabled in the phone. I have tried multiple switch ports and ethernet cables. Is the phone defective?
most likely you purchased a defective unit but without the serial number / MAC address we are unable to lookup the history of the device.
