Hello farisnt,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.
Please also include if you are using a SIP server or a LYNC server
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.
The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In addition the VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Nov 12, 2014 Question:Internal Server Error when importing a configuration file via the Web Interface?

I am still facing the same issue, and even I try the sample from the link you provide, the correct one

softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Lync Dir." softkey.1.use.active="1" />
I paste it to notepad to make sure that there is no format and the upload it.. but stilll the same issue
Hello farisnt,
could you attach the file in packed format that you try and import?

Hi
I manage to upload the file and it was successfull.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <test feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1" softkey.1.action="$FTransfer$$FDirectories$$FDialpad2$" softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Lync Dir." softkey.1.use.active="1" />
but the button did not appear.
I open also the Soft Key Configuration and try to add it as a macro
When I try to add Soft Key Configuration, I can see the preview. but once I click on save the custom button disappear.
I exported the web config to see if the changes are being saved and this is the result of the Exported Web config
<PHONE_CONFIG><WEB apps.restapi.enabled="1" feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled="1"
lcl.datetime.date.format="" tcpIpApp.sntp.address="" tcpIpApp.sntp.address.overrideDHCP="0"
tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffset.overrideDHCP="0" softkey.1.action="$FTransfer$$FDirectories$$FDialpad2$"
softkey.1.enable="1" softkey.1.label="Lync Dir." softkey.1.use.active="1" /></PHONE_CONFIG>
Why the button is not showing.
What I wana Do exactly is adding a soft key called "Operator" that will dial the oerator number "400"
previously and on my old PBX my users used to dial 0 for operator which is not working with the new one.
So I need this softkey
Thanks
Hello farisnt,
I am confused.
You stated you could import the example but it would not appear.
The last example you posted provides access to a LYNC address Book during an active call.
Do you try to use this during an active call?
I suggest you read the EFK example FAQ again to see and understand the different states these can be used in.
Do you need this Operator number on and Idle phone or during a call?
Please remember that your Polycom reseller is your first support contact in case you struggle and they are able to open a support ticket with Polycom support for you.
Can you kindly provide the MAC address of your phone?
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello farisnt,
I have moved this post as you are using LYNC and this is the section to discuss LYNC.
Please be aware that this is not a support case.
I am simply attempting to point you in the right direction in case the vast information within the community is not helping you to archive your goal.
If you require support you need to work with your Reseller.
I had already asked you for a MAC address of a phone in question.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
