Hello Laks and/or Stacy,

I am stating the following:

  • In order to use a Polycom Phone with Microsoft LYNC and/or Skype for Business for more than 30 Days you either need to purchase a Phone with the -018 or -019 as shown => here <=
    or
Purchase a per Device LYNC License from Polycom as shown => here <= per Phone used with Microsoft LYNC and/or Skype for Business

  • The Software UC Software 5.5.0 is not a Microsoft LYNC and/or Skype for Business supported version and therefore I cannot discuss this Version if used with Microsoft LYNC and/or Skype for Business

  • If you downgrade to UC Software 5.4.4 or older and the Phone is in LYNC Base Profile then Settings > Provisioning Server > DHCP Menu  will display the DHCP Option 43 Override STS-URI

Hello Laks,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes or admin guides.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Hello Stacy,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jun 15, 2016 Question:Can I use UC Software 5.5.0 for Lync or Skype for Business deployments?

Resolution:UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.

The above is also stated in the Release notes accompanying the software.

In addition the phone may not be in LYNC Base Profile as described => here <= on page 21 for an example.

Please ensure if you use LYNC / Skype for Business with a Polycom not ordered as a LYNC / Skype for Business SKU you require a license per phone as shown => here <=
