Hello thyhk215,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First: Welcome to the Polycom VoIP Forum"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

We have been using this for a while for our common area phones.  We have had the best results putting the Extention and PIN settings in the MAC-web.cfg file.

Here is the file we use.  We replace "xxxx" with the DID, "yyyy" with the extention and "####" with the PIN.

0004F2xxxxxx-web.cfg

<WEB_CONFIG>
     <OVERRIDES
               reg.1.displayName="xxx"
               reg.1.label="xxx"
               feature.btoe.enabled="0"
               reg.1.auth.useLoginCredentials="0"
               reg.1.extension="yyyy"
               reg.1.pin="####"
     />
</WEB_CONFIG>

NOTE:  I just tested this in 5.4.0.10182 and it no longer works.  Same phone logs in after installing 5.3.1.0436

Hello James,

Are you importing these configuration parameters or provisioning them from a server?

Does it work on 5.3.1 and you then Upgrade and the Phone does no longer sign in or how are you replicating ?

Steffen,

I am using a provisioning server with the settings in the MAC-web.cfg file for the phone.

On 5.3.1.0436 I can power off a phone put the settings in the file and it will login to the account whos Ext and PIN I have entered.

If I then take that phone and install 5.4.0.10182 It will have the same sign in error you get if you had logged in using PIN before installing 5.4.0.10182.  It will work if you do a factory reset on the device after upgrading to 5.4.0.10182.  As this seems to be related to the known issue upgrading to 5.4.010182 I have added it to that support ticket for now.

hi James,

Have you found an answer for this?

In our case, we were running version 5.4.0.5841 and we used provisioing server to upgarde it to 5.4.0.10182 (Skype for business), but the phone no longer signs in automaticaly once we upgrade it says that "lync sign in has failed,please update sign in information".

After we maunally enter the extension and pin, it signs in without any issues but the problem is if we upgarde all the phones it would be a tedious task.

Would appreciate if you could share us your experience or if you ahve found an answer for this.

Regards,

Khushboo

Hello Khushboo,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Polycom is aware and we are tracking this via VOIP-108215

I am unable to comment on a date but we are fixing this in the next 5.4.1 release.

Usually the Pin credentials should be cached and all you do is press sign in again but a user may not be aware and try and add different credentials.

I suggest you raise a case so we can track you as an individual and share the planned date with yourself.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
