I am having connection problems with a Polycom Soundstation 2W, 1.9 Ghz  AA0810261ACA1

The phone is constantly connecting, losing signal, and re-connecting.

I have removed the battery and replaced it.

I have re-booted the phone.

I have gone to Menu > admin setup > registration  > register, recycled the base station, then pressed OK, then pressed the paging key.  The device will re-register, but this does not correct the problem.

It seems to be "better" for a while after re-registering, but then starts to lose the connection again as before.

Any advice?

(I do have another system, and can interchange parts for testing, if this is possible - but I read where the phone and base station are matched, which would not allow this.)

Hello Mike,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

In my experience, supporting htese units in EMEA, you can interchange the 1.9Ghz units with each other or register via GAP to another DECT Base station.

Please ensure you are running the latest firmwate on these units from => here <=

That firmware upgrade is a terrible link:

  • It is from 2011 (which means it is probably already installed in your soundstation)
  • Windows 7 is the newest OS supported (which will be retired my microsoft in January 2020)
  • The included driver is not digitally signed (which means you have to reboot in a diagnostic mode & bypass security prompts)

Hello @Ender Wiggin ,

welcome to the Poly Community.

The phone has not received any software updates since 2011. Units delivered since then should come with the latest Software so there is no need to upgrade.

You responded to a post from 2012

"The phone has not received any software updates since 2011." < That is the problem.

Hello @Ender Wiggin

We would only release a new software if a reported issue needs fixing

I am not aware of any reported issues that needed fixing so there is nothing to release. The Product is already end of life or will be soon so nothing planned on this either.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Steffen,
Where can we go to see lifecycle dates for specific products?
