Hi all,

I think we have a very old SoundStation, it lacks a small LED screen for example and its S/N is purely numeric.

Part number on the back (the case?) is 2201-03308-103.

Working aspects:

  • It powers up,
  • the line is live,
  • cables have been swopped,
  • intialisation sound happens

Not working:

  • "Pick up" receiver, no open line sounds, dialing does nothing.

Any ideas on this one?

Hello ParkIT,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It would be of interest to provide some basic details as:

  • Has this ever worked ?
    yes or no
  • Pending on the above the unit is most likely defective

Providing the serial allows us to look up the history of the device.

Hi Steffen,

We don't know if it is the egg or the chicken's fault. We have made changes to our PBX and think it might have lost analogue for that port but on the same hand, someone might have tripped over the device, dropped it on the floor, picked it up, seen it still lit up and thought it was fine.

The S/N on it is: 12694076

Getting that number for you, I dropped the conversion box ... I think we need to wire a phone into the floor from the middle of the table.

P.S. We did get the phone from a third party phone provider along with support for the PBX and such, which complicates things at the moment because they just lost their lead engineer, hence why I am looking about for a solution via other avenues.

Hello ParkIT,

The serial is usually 12 digits or more and sometimes has a date under it.

The short one provided by you could not be found.

The Unit will only work with an analog port.

The short one is all there is on this.

Has the method of serial numbering changed over the years?

Hello ParkIT,

I cannot find this asset within Polycom so not really sure how old this is.

Test the analog extension with another analog phone or take this phone home and test this there.

Nothing else I could suggest.

Best Regards
