I am having an issue with a Polycom Soundstation 2W Wireless Unit.  It keeps asking to Register.  I go through the process of Registering and it keeps failing.  It asks me to power down the base unit and I believe I am doing it correctly by unplugging but I am wondering if there is another way.

I have been working on this all morning and I keep getting message "Registration Failed"

Hello FK,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Has this unit ever worked before ?

What is the serial number of the unit?

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I called Polycom and they would not help me because the unit is out of warranty.  As for checking VOIP, etc., this is an analog wireless unit so I don't see how that would help.

Yes the unit was working and is about 3 years old so I don't think it is broken.  I have done what it said to do in the Manual I found on line but still no luck.  Keeps saying "Registration failed"

Hello FK,

unsure of the VoIP reference but I clearly asked you what the serial of the device is?

Have you yet tried a software Update?

Please only reply with your serial number.

How do I find out how to do a Software Update?

Serial # is AA08104029BE1

Hello FK,

According to our records this unit was sold back in 13/10/2010 via SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS.

So it is not around 3 years old but about 6 years old.

If it only recently started to behave like this I am sure the unit is defective.

You can check for software updates => here <= but it is unlikely based on the age of the unit to get it back.

Our Support Team can offer you RMA options.

Best Regards

Thank you.  They did tell me that it would be expensive to fix and that a Software Updade would not fix the problem.  The problem is defective Hardware.

Thank you for your input.
