Problems with wideband negotiation on VTX 1000

Has anyone successfully debugged problems with wideband negotiations on the VTX 1000?  We've had these devices for years and they've been really solid.  We changed to a new voice provider and they were working until a few months ago.  Now our chance of a successful negotiation is well under 50%.

 

Our voice service is preseted to our switch as a PRI, but I know that it's converted to IP upstream from our switch.  There's an Adtran box in our server room that's taking IP voice and presenting it to us as a PRI.  This worked fine, ,but then something changed and now we've got problems.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've reviewed the documentation that you suggested.  Given that I have no control over what codecs are being used in transit, this is a real problem.  

 

Do you folks know of any carriers that will provide a codec free guarantee on calls?  Given that I only control one end of the conversation, I'm not even sure that would guarantee no problems.

 

Is there newer technology available that would provide good call quality without the codec sensitivity of the VTX 1000?
