The LCD display on my VTX 1000 is fading.  The text is very light even though the contrast is turned all the way up and I can only read the display if I look at an extreme angle.  The backlight works fine and none of the connections to the display - such as the ribbon cable appear to be loose.

Is this a lack of power issue?  Could the VTX 1000 base Universal Module be the culprit?

I'd like to save it if possible - I regularly use the audio in / out features of it.

Hello @jpslater,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Not even knowing the age of the unit and in addition opening the unit would have invalidated your warranty I assume it is on its way out.

Thanks for your reply Steffen.

Yes I assumed it was out of warranty - I believe it was put in service around 2005.  I may try swapping the Universal Module with a different one when I get access to it just to see if it is indeed an issue with the voltage level going to the LCD.

Aside from the faint display it works perfectly fine.
