HP Recommended

Does anyone have problems with VTX 1000 speakers not working.  I have no dial tone, nor does it ring.  Connections are fine.  Under settings i reviewed speakers.  I am not using any external speakers, so I believe I want the Console speakers "on"  however the unit will not let me turn it on (I believe this may be my problem) but before I send it back, want to see if I am missing something.
