Dear community,

i have a problem with my Sound Station 2W.

First the SoundStation often displayed "please wait" all the time. Turning off (battery) and turning on solved this problem normally.

We decided to make a firmware update. I read the instructions carefully and downloaded the latest update software for Windows 7.

The SoundStation was detected by the computer and i started the update.

But the update process aborted in step 2 (of 6) at 60%. The error message was "Error- Soundstation 2W detection failed".

Now the SoundStation always displays "SS2W USB Download Ready to start download". I can't press any key. It does not react.

So i started the update software again.

The computer shows "unknown device" when I connect the SoundStation to the computer.

When the window with the 2 options (BootRom Upgrade, Application Upgrade), I select "Application Upgrade". But the upgrade aborts at the same point.

I tried another computer with windows 7 and a lots of different USB-cables, but it didn't help.

Can you please help me getting the SoundStation to work ?

thank you

regards

Felix

Me too, I update the firmware vertion from Support Web Site.

and do not pass from "PLEASE WAIT".

I try 3 o 4 times update the firmware but the result is the same.

I install the software on Windows 7 64 Bits

I solve my issue:

Just execute SoundStation2W Upgrade App as "Administrator" and application update the software version without issues.

After that, show me on panel "Not Registered", then began the "Register" process, I hope that phone panel show "Registering" so press the button on base for 10 seconds and finished.

There you are.

This solution did not work for me - I get stuck on bar 9 on step 2 of the upgrade.

Hello @itgirl000,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The real question in this case is why are you trying to update the Unit?

Did the unit lose connectivity to the base and you are trying to get this back?

If yes what is the serial of the unit printed on the bottom of the unit?

Most likely the device is defective and no longer works and therefore the Upgrade Process will fail.

Telling us the serial will allow us to check when it was manufactured and advise on RMA options

The device was going I to please wait mode and I was having to constantly take out the battery and power cable to get it to come back online so I was trying to upgrade the device’s firmware to see if this would fix the issue. It is out of warranty. I finally got the upgrade to succeed yesterday after multiple tries over two days and now the device is up and registered.
