So I finally got hold of a still existing XP system (no comment here concerning Win10 update availability....) and was happy enough that the update started....

It went through a couple of steps fine, incl. writing the flash  - after something like "verifying radio specs" the Unit started to reboot.... and is stuck. The display says "rebooting please wait...." since one hours, and nothing happens. I am a bit scared to pull the battery to force the reboot - any help is appreciated.

so I disconnected the battery and it went fine with the second run.

Seriously, those "update tools" on XP and win7 are a joke for a product that is still on sale (although near eol, as far as I understand).

Hello Hanfried,

We announced the EoS / End of Sale date (July 31, 2017) for this model earlier this month.

The SS2W software update tools have not been touched since 2013 and we did not plan to make any changes to this.
