When establishing a conference call between several parties, the VTX1000 user manual says to call the first number, after answering, press CONF button, dial second number, press Conf or Join softkey so they can both be part of the conversation.
Problem I am having is that when I press the the CONF button the second time, it puts the other party on hold. There is also no Join button on any of the 3 softkeys.
I thought it might have been that our PABX was not set up for multiple calls on a line but my desk phone allows it.

Hello MauriceP,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The community's PSTN FAQ contains this post here:
Oct 20, 2011 Question: How can I setup a conference via my Polycom Conference Phone?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
A analog conference phone does not have the same abilities as your most likely digital deskphone and you will need to liaise with the PABX manufacturer how to archive a conference on your system with an analog phone.
This has nothing to do with the VTX or any other analog phone.
