I've picked up a used Soundstation 2W and can use the community's help. When I power it up, all three lights turn solid red and stay that way. The display is blank. What can be done to reflash the firmware or otherwise recover this unit?

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Where you aware of the state the SS2W is in before you purchased it?

 

You could attempt to flash the software again but this sounds most likely like it needs and RMA.

Nope, wasn't aware of the state of the SS2W before I bought it. Should have been, but wasn't. Tried the SS2W software upgrade process but it doesn't detect the SS2W. Is there another flashing process I can try? This unit is also missing the battery. I'm assuming the battery isn't needed for operation providing AC power is available, correct?

It does not need the battery but it sounds like the unit is defective and you would have to opt for the RMA process to get this repaired.
