soundstation 2 and Sky

I have just changed my isp from BT to Sky. The soundstation 2 now has a dial tone but no ring tone and prevents all phones in the house ringing. Fine if SS2 is disconnected. Tried another SS2 with same result. Only change is BT to Sky and happened immediately.  Openreach engineer came out and said he had never seen this. Suggested only solution SS2 incompatible with Sky isp as that is only change. Any ideas? Many Thanks

Hello Plkrn,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The SoundStation 2 is a normal analog phone and moving from BT to Sky does actually not change anything as Sky is using BT's Exchange.


Are you sure your wiring inside the house is correct?

Thanks for the reply.

Nothing changed other than the swap from BT to Sky. The Openreach engineer checked the wiring out. It works fine without theSS2. So the SS2 is causing the problem. The problem arose exactly at the swap from BT to Sky..

Plug the SS2 in and no ring tone. Has dial tone and can ring out no problems. But no ring tone. If you know there is a call (eg ring it yourself from mobile) can answer and is fine.
