Today Robyn McDonald and I were at NOVA Southeastern University with Dr. Ben Carson, Emeritus Professor of Neurosurgery, for one of our most popular Polycom Special Event. This was the ninth year that Dr. Carson has provided time to talk with students across the U.S. One hundred and thirty-three students from Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Dakota read his book, Gifted Hands, and prepared questions based on their reading and scientific study. We started with opening comments from Dr. Carson, rotated through the schools for the questions, and closed with final comments. Here is a sampling of some of the questions.
Dr. Carson had a great message for the students on topics such as not allowing other people’s opinions to dictate your life, investing in your own education and learning, and preparing yourself to contribute to society. He closed with his belief that, “the person that has the most to do with what you do in life, is YOU!”
