Support of Realpresence Mobile (Tablet) on Getac z710 Android 4.1.1

Dear Support,

 

We are currently testing the polycom realpresence application for tablet's on our Getac z710(industrial android device)

The application is installed correctly but dus not run due to an error "unfortunately video stopped". According to some investigation of the vendor of the tablet the problem is as follows:

The reason the error message appears is that Polycom app will ask Z710’s camera for the resolution of 320x240 which isn’t supported on the Z710.

 

Z710/4.1 only supports 176x144 (mms), VGA (640x480), HD (720p), FHD (1080p).

 

If Polycom can modify their app to choose one of these 4 resolutions (176x144, 640x480, 1280x720, 1920x1080), then the app will run with no error message.

Is there a way polycom and Getac can work together on this. Please note I had no other way of contacting polycom then via this community portal.

Thanks for the reply. We are currently not using any Polycom infrastructure its all Cisco based. Number of tablets i can only discuss with one of your product managers. Waiting for them to contact me.

Hello Jaap,

 

there are no current plans to support this tablet or a resolution of 176x144.

 

The 320x240 is our standard resolution so unfortunately for now the RealPresence Mobile application will not work with your Android tablet.
