We are using LG zero clients, and we recently purchased a couple CX5500s for teleconferencing. When we connect a CX5500 with a zero client, Windows 10 is showing a USB device in Devices and Printers and a USB root hub in Device Manager. We attempted to download the Windows 10 driver to the image, but Windows 10 says it already has the best driver for this USB device. Can anyone provide assistance or tell me what we are doing wrong? Thank you.

Hello @EthanP ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

If you need urgent help you need to work with your Reseller to open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

Checking the Data Shet => here <= most likely we never tested this with a Virtual Environment and do not claim compatibility.

  • Generally, for maximum video performance, your PC must have a quad core, 2.0 GHz or better processor, and an available USB 3.0 port. End-to-end video and audio performance will be affected by—and may be a limited by—endpoint hardware

We have a CX5500 that we are trying to connect to a Windows 10 zero client. When we connect it with the USB cord, the Printers and Devices is showing USB Device, Device Manager is showing Generic USB Hub, and the Device Status is stating “This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)”. We have already attempted to download the driver located in the cx5x00-vsc-driver.zip compressed folder, but Windows 10 is coming back stating the driver already installed is the best driver for this device. Can anyone assist us in resolving this issue? Please help.

Hello @EthanP

I already responded with the official steps to get this into support and in addition, this is most likely a completely unsupported scenario as the CX5000 has very specific hardware requirements.

One thing to ensure is to use the originally supplied cables as I have seen installations where people assumed they can use any cable. In one installation they used a 20m / 60ft USB cable.

The USB 3.0 specification only allows around 3m / 9ft.

Best Regards
