Dear

We have IP telephones with the model CX700 and cx600 and none of them can log in to skype for business since Monday 04/11/2019.

The CX700 has the latest firmware (4.0.7577.4494) and the XC600 has the firmware 4.0.7577.437. This has suddenly happened.

We have contacted Microsoft support service and they have said that everything is correct with them and that we had to contact you for this. What could be the problem? Is there a solution for this or are we obliged to buy new telephones due to the roll-out of Teams by Micrsoft?

With best regards

Hello @Hilmi Emre Bayat ,

Poly and other manufacturers produce these optimized for Microsoft® Lync® or Skype® for Business devices after a reference design and the embedded OS running on the phones is provided, supported and maintained by our partner Microsoft®.

You, therefore, may want to reach out to the Microsoft® community and / or Microsoft® support directly instead as this is the most direct and efficient path.

Polycom is unable to add any new features into the functionality of these CX Devices

Hello @Hilmi Emre Bayat ,

Actually are you using Office 365?

Important!

Lync Phone Edition CX devices no longer functional with Office 365

It appears that earlier this week Microsoft finally removed 3DES support from the TLS 1.0 protocol in Office 365 services, rendering the CX phones no longer able to connect to Skype for Business Online or Exchange Online. This change was announced a long time ago and was scheduled to happen last February, then was pushed to July, and then further delayed.

So, even though TLS 1.0 support is still in O365 (until June 2020) there are no remaining cipher suites left which are compatible with Lync Phone Edition devices.  These phones will now only function with Lync Server, SfB Server, and Exchange Server environment (given that 3DES and TLS 1.0 have not been disabled by those environment's administrators).  Take note that if a customer is using Skype for Business Server and the account's mailbox is stored in Exchange Online then the phone should still be able to register, but all mailbox/calendar functionality will no longer be available.

Best Regards

Hello

Yes, we are using Office365 (Skype for Business in the cloud). So we must buy new ip phones that are compatible with Microsoft Teams (Skype for Business). The CX phones are then no longer usable within our organization.

Thank you for the information.

Best regards

Hello @Hilmi Emre Bayat ,

If you want a futureproof solution look at our CCX phones coming out in December. Maybe as an interim, you can look >here<
