Hi Polycom Support, and community.

Over time, the use-case for one or more of our many Polycom Cameras has changed. We now need to only use half of it's potential 360 degree viewing angle.

Our clients no longer use a circular table, but rather a half table, but we still have a perfectly functional webcam worth thousands of pounds which shows a un-neccessarily huge viewing angle of the far wall. Can this be amended?

Our current solution is to buy a 100 pound good quality Microsoft webcam, and sit this on top of your own huge, 360 degree multi-directional-audio, which frankly feels like an absolute waste of the kit we've purchased.

Any ideas you can provide to help? Any suggestions you can pass on to the developers to include a tickbox in the associated software? We WANT to use your kit and recommend it, but just can't right now.

Kind Regards,

Hello @Purnellster ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

The CX5500/CX5100 and the previous CX5000 or Roundtable are originally based on a design by our Partner Microsoft.

The design was very specific and asked for a 360-degree camera and this is what the CX5500 and CX5100 are.

To my personal knowledge, there is no further feature development on this product and any request like this would need to be a feature request as outlined here:

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change aka feature request to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier

Thank you Steffen, It's unfortunate but understandable that we have to go through the reseller. I don't have high hopes that a request from a third party's, third party will get very far very fast with a company the size of Plantronics, but at least we've raised it. Thank you for letting us know how to raise the issue, I've marked your answer as the solution. Kind Regards,
