Hello Community, I am new to Polycom and I have setup a conference solution with Polycom Trio 8800 Visual Plus and Skype Account. Here is my challenge.
In our conference room (20x13 feet) we have the following:
• A desktop with Window 10 Pro with Skype for Business
• 65 inch TV used as monitor
• Logitech Camera C930
• Trio 8800.
With the above configuration it works both Trio 8800 and Desktop with the same Skype account and connection between Desktop and Trio via Bluetooth.
Problem 1. The Bluetooth connection is not stable. For the most part it works but it loose it’s pairing and we have to pair them 3 out of 10 times. Unfortunately there is no technical person at the site and most users are guest and non-technical they have to wait until the tech showed up to pair.
Question 1. What can we do to make 10 out of 10 on stable Bluetooth connection?
Problem 2. I would like to use the USB connection from the Trio to the Desktop but if I enable that feature, I lose the ability to use the dial option from Trio. I must strictly use the Skype app on the desktop to make a call.
Quesiton2. How can I use connectivity from Trio 8800 to Desktop using USB but still have the dial option?
I have Visual Plus but if use that option I will lose the desktop on the TV and I have to use a different HDMI connection on the TV. If I use that option, we are not able to do both present and conference at the same time.
What is the best solution?
Hello @Jessica 01 ,
welcome to the Polycom Community. This is your first post and I am unable to find any other posts.
Both the community's Must Read First and the community's FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.
This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.
As a reminder the basic information asked for:
UC Software 4.0.0 or later via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup. Please rename into .TXT or Zip the file to attach.
Since UC Software 5.9.0 simply provide this via the Web Interface Diagnostics > Download Support Information Package
Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Polycom to have an overview of the current software used. In addition providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up a potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.
I am unsure of the scenario you are trying to use the Polycom Trio with. Why would you want to use a PC if you can sign into Skype for Business using the Trio?
What is the scenario you are trying to archive? Also what is the Bluetooth connection used for? Is this a Bluetooth connection on the PC built in or a Bluetooth USB Stick?
Also the Visual+ once paired with the Trio can be used to locally present things in the room using either Airplay/Miracast (please remember to purchase the license) or the People & Content app using a USB cable on the Trio.
A Laptop in the room can also be used to utilize Skype for Business to present locally or in a Skype for Business meeting.
I suggest you either provide more details here or work with your Polycom reseller.
Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

It seems as though your SfB PC and your Trio is logged in as the same user. This is going to be confusing. Try this instead.
1. Make the Trio a different user. If you have the Trio setup in a "conference room", Skype enable the conference room and login to the Trio as the room (this is a pro tip!!!)
2. Invite the room to your meeting and join the meeting. When YOU join from the Win10 PC, join with "no audio" this will prevent feedback.
3. The only HDMI you need is the HDMI to the Visual+ box. The webcam on the box can be used for the "room" from the Trio you'll have the option to "Start Video".
4. Whoever presents content in your meeting will be seen on the 65" TV, thanks to the HDMI link.
5. As long as everyone invites the "room" people can hear and see meeting content even if no one is signed into the Windows 10 PC.
This is how I'm using my Trio 8800's with Visual+, in some cases. I'm using a projector with HDMI.
Hope this helps!
