BToE security enhancements

The original BToE application connected to a PC using a less secured SSH Connection.

UC Software 6.0.0 fixed multiple security vulnerabilities with respect to BToE

  • BToE Now uses more secured TLS 1.2 for a connection with PC
  • If TLS is unavailable BToE will fall back to SSH Connection

No New Configuration is required.

  • This change is fully backwardly compatible with previous versions of UCS.

Guest softkey Customization

Prior to UC Software 6.0.0 it was not possible to reposition or rename the Gues Softkey in a Skype for Business Common Area Phone (CAP) scenrario.

  • Ability to change guest softkey Page position & label when Skype for business Hotdesking is enabled.
  • Allows to rename the Guest softkey Administrator via Configuration Parameter

NOTE: This is for Skype for Business only

You can rename the guest softkey without changing the soft key position by configuring softkey.x.insert parameter in the existing position.

Configuration

Parameter Permitted Values
feature.enhancedFeatureKeys.enabled 1 – Enables Guest soft key

0– Disables Guest soft key

softkey.x.enable
1 – Enables the x soft key.

0 (default) – Disables the x soft key.

softkey.x.use.idle
1 - Displays the soft key x in the idle state.

0 (default) - Does not display the soft key x in the idle state.

softkey.x.label The text displayed on the soft key label.

If a string is labeled as “ospite” in italic, the guest key displays as “ospite” on the idle screen.

softkey.x.insert  0 (default) – The phone places the soft key in the first available position after the default soft keys.

For example, if the soft key is set to 3, the soft key is displayed in the third position from the left.

softkey.x.action Controls the action or function for the custom soft key x.

$THotDesk$

This value uses the same macro action string syntax as an Enhanced Feature Key.
