Time Settings for all VVX 310 Phones in provisioning server

Hi,

I am having a problem with the 100 VVX310 phones we purchased as the time on the web interface is set to gmt 0. I have to manually configured all phones or can make the change via the provisioning server (which is setup already as i have updated the firmware to the latest version)

The problem is i cannot seem to edit (or know where to) the cfg file to display the following:

1. NTP server

2. GMT offset +2

3. Disable daylight savings time

4. Change the admin login password to stop the flashing triangle

If you could post a sample CFG file i can work with it would be appreciated as i seem to keep getting an error when i am creating mine.

Thanks

Justin

Oh,also need to enable the web adminstration in the provisioning server by default would be a nice option as well.

Re: Time Settings for all VVX 310 Phones in provisioning server

Hello Justin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Most if not all of these questions and configuration examples are already within the normal VoIP FAQ or the Skype for Business FAQ.

Jul 11, 2014 Question: Since upgrading to UCS 5.1.1 or later and running LYNC base profile I can no longer access the Web Interface

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above holds a CFG example on how to enable the Web Interface

Oct 7, 2011 Question: What is the Standard Username and Password for a Polycom Phone?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above holds the configuration for the Password

Jan 28, 2013 Question: Time and Date flashing or unable to set time correctly

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above holds the configuration for the time and the time zone

Mar 15, 2016 Question:Why does a Polycom phone show the wrong Daylight Saving Time?

Resolution: Please check this post => here <=

The above explains why the phone uses the daylight saving time.

Feel free to create a whole configuration and then post it here for everyone to share.

Re: Time Settings for all VVX 310 Phones in provisioning server

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for the prompt response and i know you are not there to write code but i seem to be a little stuck!! I need to configure about 100 VVX310 and it would be much easier to do it through the provisioning server, this is what i have done so far.

I have looked through all the documentation below and tried my best to put together a shared.cfg file.

The settings are not taking for the phone. The firmware is being downloaded successfully which means the TFT server is working and i am getting the log and override files.

The settings i am trying to change is Polycom_01 picture attached.

The config shared file is shared.cfg

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>
<!-- Application SIP Elbe1 5.5.1.15937 08-Mar-17 13:39 -->
<!-- Created 09-05-2017 00:28 -->
<WEB_CONFIG>
  <OVERRIDES np.normal.ringing.calls.tonePattern="" saf.2="" reg.1.auth.password="0987" tcpIpApp.sntp.address="10.3.18.24" tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffsetcityID="67" tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffset="7200" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enable="0"></OVERRIDES>
  <Device device.set="1" saf.2="" reg.1.auth.password="0987" tcpIpApp.sntp.address="10.3.18.24" tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffsetcityID="67" tcpIpApp.sntp.gmtOffset="7200" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.enable="0" />
  <Phone_local httpd.cfg.enabled="1" httpd.cfg.secureTunnelRequired="0" httpd.enabled="1" />
</WEB_CONFIG>

and the 00000000.cfg is the main config file.

Re: Time Settings for all VVX 310 Phones in provisioning server

Hello JustHarp,

You NEVER specify any configuration within the 000000000000.cfg or <mac>.cfg

aka please remove:

  <Phone_local httpd.cfg.enabled="1" httpd.cfg.secureTunnelRequired="0" httpd.enabled="1" />

This is stated => here <=

You are simply missing to load the shared.cfg via the

CONFIG_FILES=""
