We have several Trio 8800's running Skype for Business.

These devices are the only part of our business still using Skype for Business. Is there a firmware available that supports Microsoft Teams yet? Was sure I read it was due Q3 of 2018.

If we can get these devices updated we can remove Skype from the business....

the same question from my company,we have plan migrate to Microsoft Teams on FY20, Do you have any plan or schedule release the new version support Microsoft Teams?

Hello @Spark_jiang,

We cannot discuss future software Versions within the Community.

Polycom, as a US based company, cannot share any future release dates or new features due the requirement of non disclosure agreement / NDA prior to this.

Via the medium of a community forum we are unable to do this.

Best Regards

Are you serious? For more than one year Polycom statet that they will fully support MS Teams with Trio 8800. Now Polycom changed it to "We Support great Audio with MS Teams". What a nightmare, we buyed 3 Policom Trio, Visual+ and Eagle Eye camera because of full MS Teams support, which will now not come. What are we supposed to do with our 3 Trio´s then? Just put it to trash?

Of course we could solve the problem that Polycom generated for us by buying more expensive Polycom products and throw away the old ones. This is not how a company should operate, if you tell everybody that a product can do something, than it should be able to do it, but you just changed the product from great to unusable.

Hello @fischeye ,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Any new product or software that is unreleased is usually shared under NDA only.

Part of the NDA agreement would usually outline that any final software or product is subject to change until released and and features are documented.

In addition Technology Partners like Microsoft may change the approach of a Product Development so this could be outside of the scope for a specific product.

Polycom has not officially released a Teams software so all we are discussing is hypothetical.

@SteffenBaierUK

The microsoft solution page of your own website has a video of a Trio 8800 being used with Teams.

Similar to @fischeye, we have made tech choices and invested in Trio based on the announcements last year. I was lead to believe the release was out there to some sort of microsoft insider goup. Surely a release has not been cancelled?

@fischeye - where did you see this news?

Trio is also still listed on the Polycom solutions for MIcrosoft Teams page:

https://www.polycom.co.uk/collaboration-solutions/microsoft-unified-communications/microsoft-teams.h...

FAQs on the Trio/Teams doesnt look like its been updated but does confirm a Teams build is out there in Microsofts tech adoption program:

"Polycom demonstrated a technology preview of Microsoft designed software
running the Microsoft Teams IP Phone application at several events in 2018.
Microsoft Teams on Polycom Trio is not yet available in generally available
software. Microsoft Teams on Polycom Trio is currently available in Microsoft’s
Technology Adoption Program (TAP). Polycom Trio confererence phones
can also connect to Microsoft Teams as 3PIP devices running the Skype for
Business software profile, so customers do not need to wait for the native
Microsoft Teams software release to start using Microsoft Teams."

Hi dwdwdw, the Information is from MS Forum and Polycom FAQ: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Teams/Polycom-Trio-8800-and-Teams/td-p/261896 https://www.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom/common/documents/faqs/polycom-phones-and-microsoft-teams... the pdf file is an official document from polycom: Once you switch over to running Polycom Trio as a native Microsoft Teams client device, it does not support video. It becomes a “voice-only” conference device. When not running “native Microsoft Teams software,” video conference rooms currently equipped with Polycom Trio Collaboration Kit (Visual+ accessory and camera) can connect to Microsoft Teams video calls using Polycom RealConnect Service. Alternatively, customers may repurpose their Polycom Trio hardware and attach Polycom Trio to Polycom + HP Skype Room Systems and benefit fully from a native Microsoft experience in their meeting rooms. -> with Teams Software no Video anymore -> buy very expensinve RealConnect Service for non Teams software -> or buy more Hardware to Downgrade Trio to Mikrophone for other Teams devices That are bad choices, the advertisement from polycom was differently about it. br fischeye
