Our customer is using Polycom VVX 500 phones with Lync 2013.
SW on VVX 500 is 5.0.2.2756.
How can I change the duration until a call is automatically placed when dialing a number?
Sometimes, the customer is simpy not fast enough to complete the whole phone number and asks to change or disable this feature.
Thanks for your support.
Regards
Bernhard

Hello Berhard,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Please be aware of the following when your customer is utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:
The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.
Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found => here <=
In order to answer your question:
This configuration will not automatically send the string to the server but will wait for the user to press send.
On-hook dialing
dialplan.userDial.timeOut="0"
Off-hook dialing:
dialplan.1.lyncdigitmap.timeout=”0”
This configuration example will automatically send the string to the server after 5 seconds in inactivity.
On-hook dialing
dialplan.userDial.timeOut="5"
Off-hook dialing:
dialplan.1.lyncdigitmap.timeout=”5”

I was able to successfully change the Off-hook dialing timeout, but am having a hard time getting the On-hook dialing timeout to work. I'm using a VVX500 with 5.0.2.2756 and BToE 2.1......
My question is: Where can I change the dialplan.userDial.timeOut=..... Which config. file? It seems as if it is at 3 seconds, and would like it changed to 10 seconds. Please help. Thanks.

I've tried setting the dialplan.1.lyncdigitmap.timeout="4" for off hook dialing using VVX phones using 5.1.1 but it does not send the digits until I hit the send button when doing off-hook dialing.
I think this might be because I'm using the reg.1.applyServerDiitMapLocally="0" because the phone is not parsing the lync dial plan correctly. Can anyone confirm? If this is the case how can I set an off-hook dial timeout parameter when using Lync?

Just so others are aware, there is a typo in the Admin guide (version 5.3) for this setting on page 356.
It reads: "dialpan.x.lyncDigitmap.timeOut"
When ti should be:
"dialplan.x.lyncDigitmap.timeOut"
They forgot an "L".

Oh and just in case this helps someone, here is how I have changed my VVXs on/off hook dialing timeouts to 15 seconds when using Lync on 5.3.0:
On Hook:
dialplan.userDial.timeOut="15"
Off-Hook:
dialplan.1.digitmap.timeout="15|15|15|15|15|15|15|15|15|15|15|15"
dialplan.1.lyncDigitmap.timeOut="15"

Hello Earnie,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
No you cannot change it directly there but the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Mar 08, 2013 Question: Where can I download configuration files from or create these myself?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
You simply create the files you require and then import via the Web Interface.
