Howdy - occasionally our vvx 500 phones will have loud static on the line when answering internal calls (so far no one has complained of this on externally originating calls).  The person that placed the call doesn't hear the static, but the recipient does.  It's loud and sounds like the static you would hear when tuning an old tv to a channel that isn't broadcast, only louder.  Has anyone had this happen?  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here is some info about my phone:

Phone Model VVX 500
Part Number 3111-44500-001 Rev:A
MAC Address 00:04:F2:DB:E6:D3
IP Address 10.100.30.100
UC Software Version 5.4.3.1014
Updater Version 5.6.3.1009

Here is some info about the other caller's phone:

Phone Model VVX 500
Part Number 3111-44500-001 Rev:A
MAC Address 00:04:F2:DB:E7:30
IP Address 10.100.30.123
UC Software Version 5.4.4.2473
Updater Version 5.6.4.2075

These are the log entries from my phone when this happened yesterday (I hung up and called the person back):

0614131414|cfg |5|00|Prm|Parameter call.autoAnswer.SIP requested type 2 but is of type 7

0614131422|sip |5|00|CUser::CallNew Call SubscribeDialogBla absent
0614131502|sip |5|00|CUser::CallNew Call SubscribeDialogBla absent

These are the log entries from the person who called me and all I heard was static:

0614131423|sip |5|00|CUser::CallNew Call SubscribeDialogBla absent

0614131502|sip |5|00|CUser::CallNew Call SubscribeDialogBla absent

These are the log entries when I answer a call and everything works as it should:

These are the log entries when I call someone internally and everything works as it should:

Hello slipperypete,

Both VVX500 where sold via SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS back in 23/03/2015.

We need to get this raised as a support ticket as the log snippets do not show anything to worry about.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS as they need to do this for you.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

We have recived reports of loud static on some calls.  It has been very intermittant in our enviroment.  I don't have any solution to it as gettign decent logging has been a chalange.

I have had reports of the same static noise on occasion.  Very infreqent and very Random.  We are still on BTO 3.3.0 and in most cases have deployed UC software version 5.4.2.2834.  We are running Skype for business on prem.

Hello jwrobson,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Could I kindly ask you not to "bump" a post as this is stated in the Read First?

In addition did you ever solve your issue => here <=?

If your new issue is customer or service affecting please go ahead and open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
