VVX 601 - How to disable the Microbrowser?



we are trialing several desk phones for a Skype for Business Online project.

UC Software Version:

MAC 64:16:7F:03:BC:C0


I enabled the Microbrowser (added some news site) and now I want to get rid of it again.

I removed the URL from the Web-GUI (Micro Browser Home and Idle Display home), cleared the browser cache of the phone and rebooted it many times. 

The phone is now switching in idle mode to a white empty page and the display darkens a bit.

If I press the Home Button I am back at my contacts where the phone should be all the time.


Any idea how to make the phone stay on the contacts page all the time again with a fully lit display?

welcome to the Polycom Community.


Maybe you played with the Power Saving settings or with the Idle Screen Saver.

Resolution:Since UC Software 4.0.0 or later a backup can be created via the Web Interface Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore > Phone Backup > Phone Backup


As the serial of the phone shows this to be a Polycom phone I suggest you work with whoever you received this test phone from.

The problem solved itself by resetting it to the factory default :-)
