Hello all,

UC software release 5.5.4.1315

profile: Skype

Reading this document:

Polycom VVX Business Media Phones for Skype for Business User Guide 5.5.1

--> Assign Skype for Business Contacts to Line Keys
  When you are signed into Skype for Business on your VVX phone, you can assign Skype for Business
contacts to a specific line on the phone or the VVX Expansion Module. You can choose to assign contacts
to a line key from your Contacts list, or from searching for a contact in the Skype for Business Directory.

  TASK
1 Navigate to Settings > Basic > Line Key Customization

Issue is that I dont see the "Line Key Customization" menu item under "Basic" at all.

Does it require any advanced feature to be enabled via the config file? If yes, what exactly is needed? If the "Line Key Customization" feature is not visible by default under Basic, a note should be added to the user guide, where to look for enablement of this feature in the corresponding Admin Guide.

Hello @RichardPasztor,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

I cannot replicate this. Once signed into the Skype account:

I rolled back to 5.5.3.2169, even rolled back to 5.4.7.1696, but neither of them shows the Line key Customization menu under Settings --> Basic.

For the record, I tried to setup the flexible Line key feature in the SHARED.CFG config file:

<feature.flexibleLineKey
    feature.flexibleLineKey.enable="1">
  </feature.flexibleLineKey>

--> but setting it to either enable="1" or enable="0" it didnt make any change. Did factory reset of the phone (VVX500 for the record) --> still no change.

Hello @RichardPasztor,

Is this unit in LYNC base profile ?

If not then it will not show up.

If this is in Skype for Business mode and you cannot get it working please escalate this into Polycom via the established channels.

Strange thing: I disconnected the phone from the PROD network, and plugged into a POE switch not configured with any Skype DHCP options 43 / 160 / 161 (only basic DHCP IP lease + DNS + ROUTER is set up). Phone cannot find Provisioning server, but can reach NTP via time.windows.com and sync time.

In this setup, the phone cannot login to Skype (as both the provisioning server and SFB server is unreachable). But the Line key customization is visible in the Basic menu. So I dont know why it becomes hidden if I sign into SFB on the other network. I dont have any clue whether the site.cfg or the shared.cfg contains any item that could possibly hide this menu?

Hello @RichardPasztor,

we do not know what is in your configuration.

As this is a parameter that needs enabling simply check a backup for:

<line feature.flexibleLineKey.enable="1" />

If you cannot find it it is specifically provisioned with a value of 0
