Hi there,

I'm running the following software on my phone

UC Software Version 5.4.1.18405 Updater Version 5.6.1.23748

I change the timezone to -5 EST but the phone display reverts back to 0 GST.  Set to PST and the settings stick and are ok.  I've tried other -5 Timezones in the web configuration and get the same problem, they revert back to 0 GMT.  I've restored the phone to factory settings and updated the firmware.  I still see the same timezone issue.  I'd be ok if i was based in Seattle but not in DC.

Thanks in advance

Nick Holden

Hello @Nick Holden,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Could it be as simple as an offset in your DHCP scope?

The community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Jan 28, 2013 Question: Time and Date flashing or unable to set time correctly

Resolution: Please check => here <=

I would assume we would have loads of tickets open if this was an actual bug.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

I did wonder the same thing but have statically assigned an IP address to my phone and have the same fault when attempting to use any of the -5 GMT timezones

Hello @Nick Holden,

First of all, UC Software 5.4.1 is not a current software. You should be on 5.6.1 or 5.5.3 or even on a later 5.4.x one.

In addition providing some logs with the FAQ suggested logging levels may enable other so sport something.

I have anew VVX 500, and have the same issue as Nick.  I am on Eastern Time, and the phone is on London time.  I reset the timezone to London, and still have London time.

Hello @Nick Holden,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Yes, it is 100% for sure a bug. The timezone is being ignored, no matter what - on the latest software version UC Software Version 5.4.1.18405 for the VVX 601.

This one is even worse than the fact that you cannot set office hours outside Monday to Friday... You really got to wonder, what kind of kindergarten is doing the programming of these devices.

Pretty pathetic quality control and no real life experience... Great!

Hello @The German ,

welcome to the Poly Community.

UC Software 5.4.1 is ancient and not supported. Please use a supported version like UC Software 5.9.3.

If this fails open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter providing your MAC address or your Poly devices serial will enable us to look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Poly device from.

If the unit is no longer within the warranty please be prepared to Pay Per Incident / PPI. This is all outlined in detail here

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

lol - I just realized that the firmware update is a dropdown and recommends the oldest possible one it can find to install...

Will try the latest now... Thanks.

Thanks again Steffen - the latest firmware had these issues addressed and fixed.
