Good morning,

I'm in need of a software key upgrade for the Polycom VSX 7000A.

I work for a school district and I have absolutely no idea if these devices were registered or of any history of these devices. They were purchased way before I started working here.

82061606E51AAK

820520000A491AL

The district wanted to start using these devices and I've been having some audio issues. The firewall is completely open for these devices and still having audio issues while video is fine. So I wanted to upgrade the firmware.

As I'm looking the version of the firmware is on 8.5 from May 08 2006.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hello,

would you mind me asking if you tried the above and checked the entitlement ?

The unit 82061606E51AAK was sold back in 12/06/2006 and for 820520000A491AL I could not find any serial ending with this serial.

82061606E51AAK was never officially activated and is not entitled to upgrade to anything including 8.5 or higher.

Maybe the school district has an archive of purchases or companies they purchased these VSX's from.  If so, that company might have the original licenses associated with the units. If not, then you may have to go to Polycom Sales or a reseller to obtain quotes for licenses (with valid serial numbers).  What kind of audio issues are you having?  Could it be the microphone(s) is(are) defective? What kind of network calls are being made, SIP, H.323 or ISDN? If IP calling, is there network QOS coming into play where AUDIO from the VSX's is marked such that it is being throttled by routers or switches?
