The HDX CODEC in one of my conference rooms is having an odd issue. All audio is fine until a VGA connection is made. Once a VGA connection is made, there is a terrible audio buzz. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have tried plugging a known good VGA cable directly in to the CODEC and the result is the same audio buzz.

Are you plugging the audio end of the VGA cable into your laptop? If not, you might try that. If it is a Desktop PC and you're not sending audio from the presentation, unplug it at the Codec (1/8" Stereo Male Plug)

That might help.

The audio is not plugged in on either end of the cable.

You may want to try a different VGA Cable. The higher frequency signal of the VGA stream can sometimes create noise in the audio...Might be a bad pin, or something like that.  I have run into the issues with one Audio plug left out of the laptop or PC and so without the circuit being 'closed' I have heard that noise.

Sorry not much help more than that...

Sorry...I have also run into this with certain Laptop Power Supplies. Try sending your VGA content and unplug the power supply from the laptop. As long as it has enough battery going this might do the trick. I use a 'Hum-X' on my laptop power supply and it takes away all of the audio noise from what the power supply is adding....
