We have recently upgraded to the Polycom RealPresence Resource Manager (SW Version 9.0.1_12), the CDR archive option saves the data from the VC endpoints for a period of 60 days max - the archive option under reports > report administration shows that the only place we can archive the files to is an FTP server

My question is - is it possible to send the CDR's to a Windows 10 device rather than an FTP server or is there an easy way to partition a windows 10 unit drive and make it an FTP server?

The network itself is stand alone with no access ot the internet hence the reason I'd like to be able to forward the data to the Windows 10 laptop i use for administering the RPRM software

Thanks!

Hello Homer,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The FTP server can run on any machine. It all depends on what kind of access you have as most likely a firewall change needs to be made to allow FTP.

Please check => here <= as I describe in part how to use a FTP server for our Phones. The setup would be the same.

Hi Steffen

Thanks for the swift reply - may I check what part of the document I apply to the Windows 10 laptop?

There seems to be multiple options within the link you directed me to and I'm not clear what to do

Am I correct in assuming that I'm enabling the laptop (or part of it) to be an FTP server?

Will the laptop be affected in any other way - i.e. running via a browser RPRM or the Polycom Realprescence Desktop software?

Thanks

Hello Homer,

you would simply as an example use Filezilla Server and setup a local user and a password.  The FTP Server would run in the background as a Service.

This is not really a Polycom issue or product so for further questions please work with your local IT team as they may want to add certain security to this.
