We have a brand new CX5100 in a newly upgraded room. We've connected the power/data box to a biamp tesiraforte AVB T1 over USB. From the Tesiraforte we go out to a USB extender that runs CAT 5 to the table with the CX5100 and then back to USB which gets connected to the laptop. We should be able to select Tesiraforte as our audio option and use our in-room sound system in place of the built-in mics/speakers on the CX5100 but alas, it doesn't work. Tesiraforte is there in the drop down menu, it just doesn't do anything once selected. We're using Windows 7 and we've tested on Lenovo X250 and T430 PC's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Ramonkind99,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I am not sure if I fully understand your setup so a diagram may be better but the only USB extender that is officially supported by Polycom is a USB 3.0 Spectra™ 3022P fiber based extender system.

The above allows you to extend the USB 3.0 connection from a CX5100 / CX5500 to the PC it is connected to.

This can be a CX8000 or a Windows PC connected to the Round Table camera.

Thanks Steffan but that's not what I mean. I've attached a diagram that hopefully is easier to understand. I'm not worried about the connection from the CX5100 to PC.

Hello Ramonkind99,

I do not think what you are trying is supported.

The only USB connection from the CX5500 or CX5100 is the blue cable that connects it to a PC delivering Video and Audio to that PC via the blue USB.

No other USB connectivity is supported from the CX unit.

The USB socket on the Camera and the base unit can be used for Log collection and software upgrades.
