My Polycom Camera VSX 5000 Remote Control is not working. I changed the batteries but still not responding to the Camera

Point the remote directly into the camera lens and press a button.  Watch the monitor. Do you see a light flashing on the end of the remote? If yes then the remote is working but not being picked up by the VSX.  If no light then the remote has quit.

The light in the remote cannot be seen by the human eye but the camera can 'see' it.  This 'trick' will work for any IR remote control.

If the remote is bad you can contact Polycom Support for options.  If there is a current service contract on the VSX we can provide a replacement. If not we can provide pricing.  In the mean time the VSX can be controlled using the WebUI.
