Hi Polycom,

 

i am using HDX 8000, it is good in usage and quality.

 

I have 1 query regarding SIP utilization.

 

i am connected to one of my office location through my HDX vc, it is connecting, and at the same time can i connect next call to an ip phone. is this why the SIP settings are provided in polycom VC?

The HDX Support Page => here <= holds the Administratos Guide for the HDX. This explains on page 2 - 15 how to add SIP registrations details.

The HDX 8000 supports point-2-point calls and with the optional multipoint (MP) license can support multipoint calls.  It supports H.323 and SIP as the communicaton protocol.

 

You can do both video and voice SIP calls. 

 

Without the MP license you can do one ppint to point call and one voice only call using the POTS interface or with an H.320 module ISDN voice call.  SIP and H.323 calls are not considered voice only calls and thus you would need the MP license to have a call with video endpoints and H.323/SIP audio only calls, up to a maximum of 4 (3 remote plus the host).
