Hello everyone,

I have a realpresence group 500 and the clients that use the device have requested wireless presentation options.

I currently have a Wireless USB display adapter that works perfectly, apple tv, and a HDMI cable for backup.

I have tried connecting a Chromecast and a Microsoft Wireless display adapter and all I get is a black screen and audio. Is there something i'm missing, or is it just not compatible?

Hello shotty53,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This could be a => HDCP <= issue. I would suggest to work with the Microsoft and Chromecast support to check if the devices utilize HDCP and if there is a way to disable it if yes.

If High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection is active Polycom devices are unable to show the content.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Just to clarify HDCP on videoconferencing systems. It is not supported because it is not allow by the HDCP forum. The idea behind HDCP is to restrict the duplication of protected content. The idea of videoconferencing IS the duplication of content. The videoconferencing industry continues to work with the HDCP folks to figure out a way for both parties’ interests to be met.

Sounds good. I'll look into this. If i am able to resolve the issue, I will mark it as so.

Thanks!
