We want to order a polycom VC system which has ISDN-30 capability build in the system (through an optional board).
The new group series requires a very expensive external gateway, so we are looking for ther latest HDX 8000 series model.

I want to be sure that we will have both hardware and software support for at least 5 years.
As a second option we prefer to buy a system for which new features will still be develloped in the comming years.

Where can I find the information if the latest HDX 8000 series equipment is suited for our needs ?
In the general hdx 8000 series information I see an end of support for 2017, but also a end of sale for 2013 while the systems are still available now, so obviously i'm looking at the wrong spot.

Thanks for your help

Jacques

To review Polycom's End of Sale and End of Life policy please visit our support web site at:  Polycom End of Life Policy

There is an Excel spreadsheet that provides all the dates for all the products.

The HDX 8000 supports the H.320 modules.

There is not an End of Sale or End of Life on the HDX product line.  We announced back in early 2010 the End of Sale of the configurations we sold at that time and replaced them with the current ones, the -720 and -1080.

The RealPresence Group Series is Polycom's current product line and development continues on it.  Currently the RealPresence Group Series does not support H.320 interfaces and gateways would be the right solution.

Ok, great, thanks for your response.

The remaining question is if new features are still being developped on the newer HDX series or is it feature wise a dead-end road?

RealPresence Group Series is the current product line and the majority of the Polycom developement resources are assigned to it.
