I am trying to connect these two together. Problem is that the run is over 50ft with how the pipes were laid out. I have tried running a cat5e then using 23716-001 RJ 45 mic extenders. This did not work. Tried it with a cross over cable. Sooo kind of lost on what to do next, other then havning a ugly cable on the floor.

No standard straight nor crossover patchcords can be used to extend mic cable. Take a look in Integrator's Reference Manual for RPG -> Custom Cabling for Polycom RealPresence Group Microphone Arrays for more details.

Hello McGuffins,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As already outline by Mike the Integrator’s Reference Manual for the Polycom RealPresence Group Series shows on Page 31 the following:

You can create a custom-length cable that connects a RealPresence Group system to a RealPresence Group microphone array or SoundStation IP 7000 phone.

Start with the microphone cable (part number 2457-23216-002), and cut off the P1 end. Using the wiring tables shown, create a custom cable from the microphone to a wall plate or other interfacing device.

Next, from the wall plate or other interfacing device, run shielded CAT5 or better cable to the RealPresence Group system, terminating with a shielded RJ-45 plug connector.
The total length from the RealPresence Group system to the first Polycom microphone array or SoundStation IP 7000 phone can vary between 18 in and 100 ft. The maximum length between subsequent microphone arrays is 25 ft.
