Group 500 with Cloud PBX SIP

Hello all. I have some clients using Group 500s in their boardrooms with RP touches. They would like the ability to dial phone calls as well as video calls but do not have the budget for Crestron or soundstructure. Since the Group 500 has the ability to do SIP. Is it plausible or supported to register the Group 500 to their cloud PBX service ( Ring Central) via SIP? Has anyone attempted such a setup and if so which PBX provider was succesful? Running 6.1.3 on the codecs. Any help is appreciated.

Hello jestrada,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The GroupSeries has the ability to simultaneously register to SIP and H.323


You may want to test this as some PABX's do not like the Video advertised in the SDP. From memory you can make an Audio only call on the Group.

Awesome! Thank you for the help. We will be attempting to register the Group 500 to their Ring Central cloud PBX. I will update the thread if this is successful.

Well we were able to successfully register the Group 500 to the clients Ring Central service via SIP. By creating a 3rd party profile in the Ring Central admin portal then inputing all info into the 500 it worked! Can now place phone calls from the GS500. Thanks!
