Group Series and Microsoft Teams

Our company like many out there are moving rather quickly to Microsoft Teams, instead of Skype for Business.  We recently had our Polycom rep Demo for us the Poloycom Trio with the HP Slice with full Teams integration.  We currently have about 10 GS units in operation and as I understand it they will need to connect to the Cloud via a hosted Real Presence app in order to join a Team Video Conferenence.

Anyone know the name ov the Real Presence App andif say a compnay doesnt have it, what they would need to do to get it.?

Thanks

Tracy

Hello @Tracy_Suttles ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I suggest you work with a Polycom reseller to look at Polycom RealConnect.

This way your investment into the infrastructure is protected.

Re: Group Series and Microsoft Teams

I am having the same issue.  We just implemented a group series less than a year ago and now come to find out it will not work with TEAMS video unless I am missing something.  I can only hear audio. A polycom rep persuaded me to get the group series as it had build in O365 and skype support and my company at the time was using skype for business.  Now we are switching to TEAMS and this system seems useless.

I asked at the time about future updates and was told polycom working closely with microsoft and any new advancements should be supported.  I would think this would be part of a software upgrade to allow teams support.

Again maybe I am just missing something but I am really unhappy at the moment with the system.

Re: Group Series and Microsoft Teams

Hello @Gary S ,

welcome to the Poly Community.

It's not Poly's decision what type of support we can provide via our Products to our customers. Our partner Microsoft specifies what devices can support Teams and in what way.

Microsoft decided what kind of support they will provide customers during the transition to Teams. At present this is Audio only through their 3PIP gateway.

Poly offers RealConnect to our customers, as far as I am aware, free of charge for now so please work with a Poly reseller or Poly Sales Engineer.

Dear Support Team,

I am also in trouble with the same issue.
The problem has not been solved.

I'm awaiting the release of new firmware.

Re: Group Series and Microsoft Teams

Hello @Taro ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

You are awaiting what Firmware release?

There will not be a firmware release that supports Teams for the GroupSeries. I already outlined that we offer the Poly free Real Connect Service.

Please work with a Poly reseller.
